Inflation in 2006 was 3.24% according to inflationdata.com.
Wages increased by the rate of inflation - 2006 to 2007
The end result was that from 2006 to 2007 union labor's wage beat the inflation rate by
21.6 cents per hour while non union labor lost 25.7 cents to inflation.
The end result was that union or union represented labor gained an average of $452
that year while the non union labor lost $538.
How did you fair?!?
Inflation from October 2007 to September 2008 was 4.28%. To
find out how you did just multiple last years wage rate time
.0428. Take that number and add it to the wage rate for last year.
Example: $17 times .0428 = .7276
The wage necessary to meet inflation would be $17 + .7276 =
$17.7276.
If this number is higher than the wage you are paid you lost that
much per hour, not counting increases in benefit costs.
